The government has set the Population Identification Number (NIK) as the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP). Therefore, the public is asked to ensure that they do the matching by December 31, 2023.
The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) encourages everyone to have a taxpayer (WP). According to information provided by the Directorate General of Taxes, Director General of Taxes Circular Letter number SE-60/PJ/2013 stipulates that everyone who has tax obligations must have one NPWP. In addition, Tax General Suryo Utomo stated that the NIK will serve as the NPWP as the basis of the administration system. The CATAS (Core Tax Administration System) system starts in mid-2024. The December 2023 edition of APBN KITA Press Conference revealed this.
